It's OK, It'll All Be Over Soon

I could be wrong here, but I believe it's Saturday and the college basketball season has begun. And yet, I am watching Michigan play Ohio State in football. I have no idea why. I don't care for either of these teams, nor do I care for collegiate football in general, but without basketball I need shelter and Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit, with their live sports and all, can provide a temporary home (albeit one that smells like oatmeal and tanning lotion). But on December 1, college football, its uninteresting parity and playoff clusterfuckitude will begin to recede back into its rightful place and ESPN will be taken over by college hoops once again, followed by a December 8 take over of CBS (where we will all feed of the exuberant, figurative teat of Gus Johnson), unleashing a string of Saturdays that will feel more familiar than the last. For the time being, enjoy Virginia at Arizona tonight, if you have a Tivo or the willpower to keep yourself sober enough on a Saturday night to remember it. It will be better in due time, all in due time.
